Italy Part II
Okay so I'm REALLY behind. But I've been so busy! So I'm doing what I can when I can. When I'm done posting about the way past - I'll post about the current, which will then be the way past!!
Sunday, April 22nd
Zac's been trying to act 'high class' so he's putting his pinky way out. The saying 'pinky's classy' has basically become a joke between the two of us. I know he looks silly, but he's smiling, and he's 14 - so he's supposed to look silly! The smiling is an extra bonus!
It's so weird. The pictures on their bathroom doors: men look the same as the US, but the ladies - their dresses go all the way down to the floor.
Did you know limestone used to be known as white gold? I didn't!
Did you know Italy has the only volcanos on the European continent? I didn't know that either.
We had a really nice dinner complete with live music. Very good guitar and flute players. They said they knew old Italian songs. So I asked for Anello, Rostiboli and Gelosia. Okay, so maybe not that old!
I had a difficult time finding people to take travelers checks. Everybody goes on siesta (lunch/nap) from 11:30-4:30 and goes home at 5:30. I'm figuring their day begins at like 7 or 8 in the morning. I think it's a 27 hour work week - for full time. I know they're bitching in germany because the gov't wants to make a 32 hour work week manditory. I'm like of flip off!
Oh, and let's not forget the starting vacation package of 4 weeks off per year. Okay so where'd America go wrong!?
Okay must go -- obligations and all that
Later!
